At KBI, we take our environmental impact and safety obligations very seriously. That's why we're proud to hold ISO 14001 certification, which demonstrates our commitment to reducing waste, improving resource efficiency, and driving down costs. We also provide our workers with extensive training and medical surveillance programs to ensure their safety while working within a complex hazardous waste facility.
In addition to our internal programs, we perform daily inspections of our facilities and maintain detailed inspection records. Our management team is dedicated to continuous improvement in the areas of safety and environmental compliance, and we conduct regular environmental and exposure monitoring to ensure we are meeting all regulatory requirements.
Finally, we issue Certificates of Acceptance and Recycling to our customers and maintain financial assurances in the event of closure, which is funded via a trust account currently exceeding $2,000,000. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of compliance and safety to protect our workers, customers, and the environment.

Prioritizing Employee Safety
Our Comprehensive Training and Health Programs
At KBI, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our employees above all else. Our comprehensive training programs ensure that all operations personnel are equipped to handle the complexities of a hazardous waste TSD facility. Our workers undergo an initial 3-day HAZWOPER training course, followed by annual 8-hour refreshers, meeting the stringent requirements of both Cal/OSHA and the DTSC. Additionally, we provide all other necessary OSHA and DOT training to ensure that our workers can perform their jobs safely and effectively.
In addition to training, we take the necessary steps to monitor our workers' health and well-being. We have detailed medical surveillance and monitoring programs in place, as required by regulation and job duties, to ensure that our workers are protected from any hazards they may encounter on the job. At KBI, we are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all of our employees.
