Lead Acid Battery Recycling

KBI specializes in the recycling of lead acid batteries from industrial applications, such as backup power systems for telecommunication equipment, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and forklift trucks.
Upon receipt of the batteries at our recycling facility, we disassemble and break them down into their component pieces. We treat the sulfuric acid electrolyte to neutralize it, and recover the lead plates, which are sent off-site for additional refining. The recovered lead is then used to produce new lead-acid batteries or various other lead-based products.

Our team of experts specializes in the recycling of nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries from automotive applications, including hybrid vehicles. We disassemble the large packs into their component pieces and segregate the individual battery modules. The nickel plates are then physically separated and sent off-site for additional refining.
